I have been intrigued by some of the paint colors used by several makers in the recent years, and was wondering what is the secret to the way paint looks. I am specifically talking about the grey and tan paint on some Toyota vehicles (Tundra, 4Runner), and some of the Jeeps. Even though there is clear polish, they appear less reflective, almost 'milky', which contrasts with the traditional metallic paints. I know that not all older paints were metallic, but there is something distinctly different about the new paints. I really hope someone with auto paint experience could explain what makes these new paints different. I am also curious how these paints will look in 10 and 20 years, but we will all just have to wait around for the answer. via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2tNn0J9
