Worth filing insurance claim?

I made the mistake of parking too close to the grocery store recently and came out to this dent in my rear left fender. It's about the size of a quarter and the paint does not appear to be chipped, just a scuff from the other car. Since it's on the lip of the fender in a crease within the panel, I'm wondering if this can be fixed on my own (heat, etc), or if I should file an insurance claim to get it repaired. My deductible is $500 as I mostly self-insure, so this seems like a toss-up as to whether it's a worthwhile expense. $500 seems like more than it should cost to repair based on the size, but I know this can be an ignorant assumption. I'm curious if anyone here has body work experience and could tell whether it's repairable on my own? If not, would be more than $500 in repairs to fix something like this? In case it's relevant, the car is a MB CLS550. Thanks!Pics Here: Picture 1 Picture 2 via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2uOxPbc
