On a '93 Toyota Corolla, does it matter if the starter is for a manual or automatic?

I have a manual 93 Toyota Corolla. My starter has gone out. I was hoping it was just the battery so I went to an O'Reilly's to have the battery tested. Their battery checker wasn't working. Someone checked for me if they had the part in stock and saw that it was at the factory. She didn't ask me if my car was an automatic or manual.I went to another O'Reilly's to check my battery. While he checked it, he also looked in the computer system to order my part from the factory. He asked me if my car was an automatic or manual. After clicking manual, the computer showed that no O'Reilly's store had that part and would take a week at least to get.I then went to Autozone. I told him it was for a manual 93 Corolla. He looks it up and has the part in stock but says that none of the parts specify that it's manual or automatic. He also said the computer didn't give him a prompt asking whether the car was a manual or automatic.I know nothing about cars. I need this part as soon as possible cause I need my car for work. Does anyone have any idea if this part matters whether it's automatic or manual? Thanks so much for any help!! via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2ubPxsO
