Here's my opinion on 'ring times:There are a ton of variables (tires, track temperature, traffic) which make 'ring times a pretty questionable way to compare cars' track performance. However, I still find it (like 0-60) a broadly useful metric for categorizing street cars into performance tiers. The bumps and kerbs also force manufacturers to not over-stiffen their suspensions simply to give the impression of 'sport.' Fast 'ring cars typically have a decent range of suspension travel and aren't super slammed, translating into performance cars that don't skitter around over bumpy pavement. So, what do you guys and gals think? Useful development tool, or just a manufacturer dick-measuring contest? via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2u7F6qh
