I had an epic day of motorsports, but not without its challenges...

So I had my K20 powered MR2 all set up for a super fun Friday: a track day with Jzilla at Road Atlanta during the day and in the evening, going across the street to Lanier Raceplex for round 1 of the iTrack Motorsports ExciteGP.Things were going great all day; I was giving numerous friends and their friends rides, my car ran well, my hpde student was good, never scared me, and listened to me. Then in the session after lunch, I noticed my exhaust note changed. Turns out my header runner for one of the cylinders had completely broken a weld apart about 8 inches from the engine head. My friend's friend, Steven, had a flux core welder but I had to instruct every hour or so, so I let my friend drive the car to his house (very slowly) to fix it while I instructed. They flux core welded it back together but the welder broke when they were about 80% done, still a little leak but almost fixed completely. I was shocked at how good this turned out. I ran 1 more successful HPDE session then went to the drift event, got some camera car footage and even got a couple sessions of drifting in myself. This video isn't from that night but from another similar event at the same trackI also recently found out someone (Shifting Gears) had snapped my new favorite pic of my car!](http://ift.tt/2tmtr5q)My friends were my heroes that day and why I love the car community. What a fun day it turned out to be, and a good story too. via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2sS2JxP
