[Advice Please] My wife wants to trade in her 2015 Prius C2 for a 2017 Corolla, I think it's a bad idea.

Hello r/cars,My wife and I had our first child, and she wants to trade in her Prius C2 for a Corolla. She financed her Prius with 0 APR, and has $9,000 left. It has 7,600 miles with no damage. The dealership is offering to trade it in $11,000 and she will use that to lease a 2017 Corolla with a cheaper monthly payment. I think it's a bad idea because I always thought to get the most value out a car from a dealership you should buy and use it around 7 years, and then sell it if you want a new car. Also she's going to be leasing the new car instead of purchasing it, but she has the option to buy it after 3 years. She bought the Prius because she likes small hatchbacks, but the stroller does not fit in the trunk. She wants a bigger car, but can't afford an SUV. I would say I do 90% of the driving in my car when we are together, she only drives her car to work and back.Is this a good idea, a bad idea? Let me know if you need any more information. via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2tChQzL
