Do people find hatchback trunk space to be practical?

I have a Golf loaner this weekend. Have a couple medium size coolers and my baseball bag (large duffle). I was surprised to see barely fit. (I could probably optimize the space a bit better if I knew better.)While I know spec-wise it has more capacity than my Jetta, do most people find tall, short cargo space to be as/more practical than flat, deep cargo space?I can't help but feel that I'd have to play Tetris more with a hatchback than a typical sedan trunk. via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2sbojy5
