An automotive adventure

I'm not going to tell you my name, where I work and so have you. It will get me in trouble if I do. However I've decided that I'm going to start sharing what I know and what I find out about cars with you, from inside the trade. I'm not the most skilled or brilliant individual, in fact at this exact moment I've not even finished my apprenticeship. But this trade I believe and in particular where I work are somewhat unique.I'm going to mostly focus on the cars, things about them that make you happy and other things about them that make me think I'm slowly contracting hepatitis B. So I'll get straight in, and it's a special one.The TVR 3000M Turbo I'm from the mid 90's so I grew up listening about and looking at TVR's but there was one that always looked meaner than the rest, the TVR Tuscan, well to be honest it looked like a John Dory fish (google it) and it was supposedly quick. With its 4.2 litre engine. They never used to comment on the cornering though. From there, to me anyway, TVR's seemed to just turn into some gimmicky unreliable supposed 911 rival and I lost interest. This 3000M Turbo wasn't a Tuscan, for one it was much, much rarer, like head. Only 20 of these babies were conceived and I got to drive one. Two words, TVR and turbo. I was practically foaming at the mouth when I got the opportunity to drive this thing. So I got in, beige interior, not my cup of tea but that's okay, don't get it dirty my boss said as I climbed in with my work boots on, GOOD ONE! So I get in, I have to turn it round to get it out the yard. An easy task. Wrong. I once owned a car with no power steering, a Peugeot 106, it wasn't to bad on those skinny tyres. This however on fat semi slicks was horrible, I was actually having a tug or war with the steering wheel! People say technology ruins the feel of modern day sports cars, fuck that. Give me hydraulic give me electric, hell give me fucking pneumatic! Just something to ease the pain in my arms while I'm trying to turn this fat shit around! Oh and that thing about only 20 of them were made! Thank fuck for that because if there were anymore the planet wouldn't be able to function because all our fucking resources would be used trying to keep these unreliable bastards on the road. Yes as soon as I turned it round it cut out and wouldn't start. It was like pleasuring a woman and getting nothing in return! What was the point in any of this? So that was it, I never really got to drive the TVR properly, thanks to it's long term foe, itself. It was pretty though. So for that it gets a 3/5 via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2sVcH4V
