2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee turns off, dealer says it's fixed

I am posting here on behalf of my stubborn stepfather who got the GC (brand new) from a local dealership here in Toronto area. It's a 2013 Overland, that from the beginning had issues with the ever-famous ignition switch. They had it in for service at least 3 times at the delearship (under warranty), and every time he gets it back it works fine for a little while and then shuts of spontaneously mid-drive. This week, when the car turned off mid drive once again while going over 80km/h (it affects braking as well) he dropped it off at the dealership. The service manager finally told him that they have no idea how to fix it, and that they will not be servicing the issue under warranty. There was no further communication, and from what I understand he hasn't pressed the issue since. He does not treat this as a priority, and isn't exactly taking any steps but I wanted to make the thread here to hear your opinions and see what the possible routes of action may be. via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2sdEUR1
