This thought just struck me today, whenever you look at buying a used Ford the first thing you watch out for is if it has Vulcan or a good 'ol Essex engine and avoid that car unless it's your only option or you want a slow but reliable car. Back in the 60's and 70's the same treatment was applied to Y-block engines in a way. It was one of the more undesirable and unremarkable engines to have in a Galaxie or a pre-Falcon Fairlane, it seems like a 6 cylinder was even more desirable than a Y-block. via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2tWeQya
