Why are modern v6 family sedans getting so fast?

I heard about stock v6 accords and camrys doing around 6 seconds for 0-60 and the awd fusion sport apparently did it in 5. This is insane. Are speed3, st, si, gti owners nervous? Why are these family sedans more powerful than most typical entry level sports cars? via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2uEsVOz
