What are the most clever and most irksome features on your car?

I'll start with my car: a 2008 Volvo S40.The best:The controls, particularly the clock adjustment. There's a beautifully simple sub-menu dedicated to it. All cars should use this method.Valet mode. You can put the car into valet mode which locks the trunk and glove compartment. You can hold down the unlock button on the key fob to open all the windows. I think a lot of cars have this but it's still nice. The turn signal: Pushing the stalk about halfway up or down (but not locking it into place) makes the turn signal blink three times and then shut off. I realize that lots of cars have this, but this is my first car to have this feature and it's wonderful. The mildly infuriating:Anything to do with fueling. My car has the base engine (US Spec), a 2.4L i5. It manages about 20 MPG on 91 octane fuel for its 168 horsepower, and the tank only holds about eleven gallons, so you have to fill this car up a lot. And you have to stand outside and hold the fuel pump in a particular way; otherwise, the pump will think the tank is full every third of a gallon. You can adjust whether the lights flash when you lock and unlock the car, and you can adjust whether unlocking the car initially unlocks only the driver's door or all four doors, but you cannot make the car beep when you lock it. The upshot is I can never remember whether I locked my car. Thankfully, the key fob works from remarkably far away. The headlights. If you don't use the relatively pricey and dim OEM Volvo bulbs, you have to replace your headlights quite often (mine lasted six months). Fortunately, it's extremely easy to replace the headlight bulbs; you can do it in five minutes.EDIT: words via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2tzY45A
