r/science posts about air quality and health, lots of car bashing in the comments, are cars really that bad?


Here's the link to the thread. I'm not a climate specialist, but I'm hesitant to call cars out as a major city pollutant when industry and cargo ships seem to be so much worse. Cars have gotten a lot cleaner in the past years and I don't think they're contributing a significant amount of volatile organic compounds anymore.I also don't really buy that electric cars are better for the environment, it just seems like a different set of environmental problems to deal with because of battery production.What do you think about some of the car opinions in the thread? via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2sDoxlS
