Somewhat of a philosophical question on which I'm slightly indecisive. Leaving make and model out of it, should I restore my old girl with about $30,000 and make something completely unique and mine, or should I use that money to buy something new thats still unique-ish but leaving no budget for customization. To boil it down, I've got a 15 year old car with 150k on the clock that needs a lot of TLC, but parts aren't especially easy to come by (because its European). I love the car to pits and pieces and theres a couple companies that do aftermarket mods for it. It's not your typical "car guy" car and isn't all that popular in the general modding and performance community. On the otherhand the same model car but ~13 years newer (would buy used) is technically a much better car. Faster, safer, better technology, and more importantly more reliable, but also with less character.I don't want to be too specific about it cause I don't want any "well you should just buy a miata." I know what I like... its not a miata :P and I want to keep this convo philosophical and general in scope. So what do you guys think..TL;DR from a very general perspective, should I spend my money on fixing up and customizing my old car to make it mine, but i may have trouble finding some parts. Or buy the same model car but 13 years newer thats faster and more reliable but isn't as unique. via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2uzNWJD
