Need to do some cheapo paint repair to an old car. Will matte clear coat look glossy if you put a dual action polisher to it?

I've got an old car and a small area that I bondoed. I already had the color matched paint and all the tools for it but I don't have a glossy clear coat. I was wondering if matte clear coat, after polishing, will look the same as the existing, polisher clear coat. via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2tKmk7z
