Just bought an '09 Lincoln MKZ. How do I get Micorosft SYNC working with my iPhone?

I just bought a 2009 Lincoln MKZ for $2500. I paired my iPhone with Microsoft SYNC/Bluetooth or whatever but it doesn't seem to be playing audio from my phone properly. Satellite works, FM works, AM works, etc. What am I doing wrong here?
