I need help looking for my first car and can't decide what to get.

So my (reasonable) dream is a Subaru Forester, I really like the older models like the 04, 05 type. It's a 4 cylinder too so gas should be good on it.The thing is everyone in my family has always been a bit biased. My parents and brother are always telling me to buy a cookie cutter car like a civic, camry, carilla, cr-v etc. because of their reliability. I get why they tells me that because they are right but I also hear that Subaru are just as good, if not better at holding up than these. The only thing is that I've heard they cost more to repair, including the head gasket issues that these models have.So should I be looking for what they tell me to buy or should I go with what I want?Im trying to keep my budget under 5k so if I do want a Forester they'll probably have around 150k miles, is this a good idea? via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2ty3xvL
