Finally decided to post a few pics of the '78 Firebird Formula my dad and I, (mostly my dad), have been rebuilding.

So last year my dad picked up this Firebird, I believe in South Dakota or somewhere up north, and hauled it back here to Texas. It was in pretty bad shape when we got it and have completely gutted it and taken it apart more times than I can count as we keep replacing things. We pulled the original 400 out of it and replaced it with a 400 we had built up but we ended up running into some issues that are going to take a bit longer to fix than intended. Fortunately, we had an L82 that we had built up on a previous '81 stingray that was a show car, for funsies, and decided to hell with it, and do a huge swap and throw it in the firebird while we tinkered with the second 400. We ended up pulling two different 400s and just replacing everything with the parts from the vette. It all might go back in someday though, but it's pretty fun the way it is right now. My dad has done most of the work on it though and I drive to his place on the weekends, it's about 2 hours away from me, that I don't have plans with my wife. I've missed a lot of the fun stuff, like putting in the ratchet shifter and headers, but managed to be there for pain in the ass stuff. We have some pretty big plans coming up that I'll be taking more pictures of and sharing with everyone if this goes well. Here it is! : http://ift.tt/2uyHy9t via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2uzcSVG
