Hey, /r/cars!I have recently become enamored with the Z Fairladies and I need some advice on whether or not I should pull the trigger and start setting my sights for a Datsun 280zx. I am heading into my senior year for high school and this will definitely not be my daily driver (although insurance would be a concern regardless- a big downside I am aware of) but just as a fun project car. I have never lifted a wrench with purpose in the past so this is where I intend to teach myself so I am 100% willing to undertake a restoration project with a Haynes manual. I have an $8,000 budget.
