Car was a lemon

Ok, I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo 2005 from a honda dealership used as an as is preowned. Drove it for a couple of days and the engine light comes on. My family is about to go on vacation so we decide to get it checked out at the mechanic down the street when we get back. Fast forward to today we drop it off at the mechanic. Its unfit to drive, the previous owner used a vice grip to hold where a bolt should've been. Front axel was shot, breaks were shot ect. It would amount to around 2000$ in repairs for the vehicle. We call the dealership and they tell us that we can trade it in for a car of equal or less value. Is there anything we can do, I don't find any of these cars at the dealership as something I want to drive. I paid 2000 down for the bum car and havent made any payments.
