Car suddenly using oil?

2010 Corolla XRS with the 2.4 which is known to be an engine that consumes oil and has been the source of recalls. Only has 42k miles on it.I had it serviced at the dealership back in February and in their report it showed the dipstick right in the middle of the two dots of low and full. Ok fine.Just went out and checked it the other day, cold from sitting overnight, and on level ground. Toyota dipsticks are kind of annoying but it consistently showed really low on the dipstick, as in barely making it onto the dipstick. I added some oil, probably about 200 ML (very little from a quart bottle) and now it shows just above the low dot on the dipstick.Would there be a reason why the car would suddenly use oil in the last few months? Or maybe it was under filled from the last service?I also didn't realize the difference between being quite low on the dipstick to having an adequate amount of oil in the car was only 200 ML or so.Car never ran rough, never overheated, never had any signs of low oil. via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2tBJsou
