was lurking on askreddit earlier when I saw a thread that got me thinking: I work at a car dealership where I spend a lot of time in and out of tens of other people's cars on a daily basis, and it's interesting that even though every car is different based on how clean it is, what air fresheners are used, or how old it is, each model of a car tends to have a specific, underlying scent that never really completely goes away. some cars smell leathery, others can smell plasticcy if you step inside on a hot day, and some even smell like crayons. then you spend some time around classic cars, and every one has that perfect 'old car smell'.my favorite car scent is that of an old Lexus. it's a distinct, kind of old-car leathery scent that immediately takes me back to riding around in my grandparents' ES300 as a kid. one of the first things I noticed after buying my LS400 was that it too has that signature 'old Lexus smell'. you get used to it if you drive the car every day, but step inside after several days away and it hits you right away. what are your favorite car smells? via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2t5tC33
