I recently purchased a car in cash from a dealer and I still do not have my title or registration 100 days later. I called the dealership a few times during the 90 day temp period as it usually doesn't take more than a couple weeks to get them. I went and got a new 90 day temp, and here's where it gets interesting. I got pulled over by a cop for a "dead plate" as he said, which means the license plate is not being registered at all. He asked to see the pink slip(new one) and I handed it to him. The dealer wrote the wrong plate number. Misplaced a 7 for a 3. I lucky had a copy of the old one (don't know if that's legal) and showed him that one. He ran that number and said that that plate isn't even registered. He explained it's an almost instantaneous thing, once the state receives the request, it's put into the system so cops know the car is registered. He told me to call the dealer and get it straightened out right away. Now I'm getting aggravated because the dealer says they don't know what's going on, and I'm driving in an unregistered vehicle. What should I do?Tl;dr: dealer messed my new 90 day temp up after not getting my registration/title in the first 90 days, got pulled over by cop, cars not even registered. What do now? via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2sb1Vsw
