Posted this before but I accidentally deleted it. My 89' dodge 250 van needs a new transmission, and radiator, the old tranny is totally gone. Dodge also has 273k+ miles on it, and no heating, air, or radio. The mechanic I am at wants around 1300 to do all the work.However he knows someone selling a 2002 astro van for 1200. The astro is in good shape with 200k miles, heating, air, and 4wd. All it needs are new front tires. The mechanic seems like a stand-up guy and says that the astro would probably be the most bang for my buck, even though he is not making any money off me since I wouldn't repair the dodge.To add I do live in the van part-time in between seasonal jobs.
