We don't know what to do next honestly. Here's the breakdown of what has happened so far:My friend had placed a deposit down on a new Civic Type-R with a local dealership in her town last month for the dealer to locate and ship in a Civic Type-R for her to purchase. She had a text exchange with the salesperson handling the Dealer trade and the car arrives tomorrow. The dealership has already marked the car as sold in their inventory according to what the GM has told her.The issue is that she came into the dealership on the day they said it would come in and the salesman and the GM of the dealership both first asked her if she had a contract, at which she provided the deposit form and receipt given to her by the dealership, and then they had given her the runaround. The the GM told her that he didn't realize how hot the car was going to be as far as production limits and popular demand go. Then had immediately told her his plan was to hold the car for 90 days to display on the showroom floor to garner interest on the car and then would finalize the sale of the car to her after that. No other options were given to her but to wait, or get her deposit back and not purchase the car; which is obviously not an option she's considering. My friend posted a youtube video of her experience so far and I have her permission to link it here, as well as the imgur photos she had up. I scrubbed her personal info, of course.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXzCsCaIU0k&t=1sShe and her boyfriend both have audio/video of their dealership visit yesterday and the GM and salesman admit the car is sold to her at MSRP and text proof of the salesman saying the car could be paid for by her on its arrival to the dealership. The album for the agreement and texts between her and the salesman is located here:http://ift.tt/2s6DSXL The pictures may not be in proper order but the details are there. Please provide any guidance or help on the matter here, she just wants her car.So far she has contacted Honda customer care, as well as a lawyer, to see what can possibly be done. She's waiting for a call from Honda I do believe, and a lawyer has reached out to her so far. via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2srIwPi
