BMW stock wheel cutting through tire sidewall repeatedly

Hi all,I could use some advice. My mother has had the same wheel on two different locations on the car destroy 3 tires now. The dealer says that the wheel is fine and that it is her fault for having low profile tires on the car (which came stock) and hitting potholes. The wheel has no visible damage, curb rash, etc. We all hit potholes but I've never had a problem on my car with low profile tires nor has my father. I feel she is being brushed off as a woman. Their suggestion to her is to buy 4 new wheels an inch smaller in diameter.I feel that the dealer could easily replace the wheel on the car with very little cost to them. I'm honestly very hesitant to consider a BMW as my next car after this nonsense. Am I overreacting? Is there a good course of action to follow? I'm considering asking her to give them a terrible review once the survey comes in to get attention from someone higher up.
