Worst argument against leasing a car

Why put money into something you don't own?I'm not going to buy wheels or mod the car when I have to turn it in after 3 years!!This can be said of every car I have ever owned, and I have never leased a car. I buy cars, put money into them, and eventually sell them. Does it really matter whether I "owned" the car outright? A lease is no different than financing a car and then trading it in or selling it, whether it was paid off or not. So what you may have owned the car for a period of time, but then you sold it. So your argument is invalid. I don't feel like fact-checking right now but I'm sure someone could come up with stats about how many people sell cars or trade them in when they are upside down, I'm sure it is a big number. Leasing just guarantees that after you are done with the car, you will not be upside down. I would venture to say that most people on this forum go through cars every couple of years, and most here do not buy brand new cars to run them until they die. Am I right? Am I crazy? What am I??? via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2sRwxee
