For those who work on older cars, what do you do about parts you just straight up cannot get?

A good example of what I mean, I currently drive a 1994 Toyota Camry wagon. Some one broke the interior handle off the lift gate, and I simply have not replaced it for lack of options. What do people normally do about such things? via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2uY8Su1
