What is your opinion on car-branded attire?

I feel as if this topic is quite taboo among the car community. I'm not talking "car culture" wear, but more along the lines of officially licensed attire. Why is it frowned upon by many for someone to wear clothing that reflects their taste in cars?I work for BMW, and therefore I have a TON of BMW clothing that I have obtained through my job. I also wear BMW polos, jackets, and hats as my uniform for work. Countless times I have been called out while driving, not only in my own car going to and from work, but in customer cars as well. Normally it's a mixture of sly remarks that all portray the same question "did the car come with the (whatever I am wearing at the time), or was it the other way around?"Now I don't wear BMW stuff outside of work because I've always thought it was a bit pretentious and I don't like bringing unnecessary attention to my self, but I still don't understand the hate?Is it just high end brands that warrant these reactions? Or is it the same story with all manufacturer licensed clothing? via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2rOyzQI
