This may sound weird and I just wanted to hear your opinion on this so here it goes.My dad gifted me his 10 year old car since he is buying a new one for himself, a Q7.So the car is an absolute beast, its a Mercedes C class 350. It is an incredible machine to drive, 300hp, Rwd and really comfortable. I enjoy driving it a crazy lot, the engine sound is amazing and I love to push it hard always within the safety limits. But, and here is where I might get some hate, it is automatic. I love driving and I love cars, I love to feel the engine when I hit the gas pedal, I love to be in control of what the car is doing. But I can't in here.The automatic gear change kills a crazy ton the feel of the car, it changes gears whenever it wants, and don't get me wrong, I always go semi-automatic mode with it, but it will take sometimes around 1 second to change gears and there is no feel there when you don't even have to release the gas pedal for it. When you rev it too much it just changes gears automatically and if you let it go low it will change down for you. The handling is incredible in it but I am not really enjoying it.I once told my dad I was saving for a really cheap(under 1000$) BMW 320i and he went crazy saying things like "that's incredibly disrespectful from you, that car that I gifted you is a treasure and all you want a rusty piece of crap" and things like that.This is being really hard for me because I know it is a car I could only dream of while I am 22 yo, all my friends envy me and it has even helped me out picking up chicks, but I feel it just isn't for me.I have to say I have enjoyed more driving my friends manual cars than my own and thats crazy.So mostly I'd like to know what you guys think of this; am I being a dick for bitching so much about the ride? Should I go for the bmw I like and give no fucks about what my dad thinks?(I tried explaining but he thinks I'm crazy) Would a swap to manual be stupid?Tl;dr: my dad gifted me a 300hp Benz qnd I don't like it because it's not manual. via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2tTgFZp
