Continuing the AW11 love - here's my 1987 Mk1b.

After seeing a few other beautiful Adubs on here, I decided to post my daily - a 1987 Mk1b.About 6-7 years ago I decided I wanted more than a single car, purchased a Mazda 2 as a daily, and decided to fill the second space with something older. Following a pretty disasterous 1 week ownership of an imported JDM Turbo SW20, which was written off by a driver turning across traffic, I went back in time a few years and found a near-mint AW11 which had been (relatively) untouched by the Australian sun.As it was when I collected it: http://ift.tt/2s2jURM few small mods followed, namely a set of Watanabe 8 spokes imported from Japan, along with Koni yellows, TRD springs and a whilteline front swaybar over the following year. Drivetrain is stock.http://ift.tt/2sMQfZZ interior mods so far have been a short shifter kit, brass shifter bushings and a new Kei Office steering wheel, which more or less fits in with the rest of the 80's interior.http://ift.tt/2s2bGJz intending to be a weekend car, it's now my daily, and bears the scars of daily duty - a few more dents, a couple of replaced panels thanks to a careless camry driver and interior A-pillar trim pieces disintegrating from the Aussie sun (cracked on the left, missing on the right) but it's been incredibly reliable, even by Toyota standards - more or less maintenance free for the last few years, apart from standard oil and filters. It's almost hit the 30 year mark now, and probably will switch to historic registration to free up money for another daily, so it can get a bit more TLC and bring up a few parts to the condition I want it to be in (eg the front left quarter panel, the victim of the Camry, will become the right shade of white, the front right panel, a victim of the sun, will get its clear coat back). As it stands nowhttp://i.imgur.com/IBiTX1D.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/aX5PmLM.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/RoKW4NU.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/sVH4ti3.jpgHopefully now that they're getting more attention, those that remain start to get picked up and nurtured back to health - thankfully they've been spared the butchering that many AE86's seem to have suffered from, but plenty of neglected examples are still out there going for cheap. via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2t1VAia
