Best short term option?

I've got a very specific situation. TL;DR at the bottom.I am military stationed over seas unexpectedly returning to the states. I will be stationed in new mexico for seven months. I own a car, but its on the east coast with my parents because I was suppose to stay overseas the entire time. I drove my car over there and the military will not pay to have it shipped to my duty station. I don't want to drive it across country again.As of right now, I plan on stopping in Nevada for a week or so, stopping again in Arizona for a few days, and finally driving to new mexico. Once I'm at my final destination, I'll be 100 miles from any metropolitan and 220 miles from Albuquerque which I imagine ill be driving to every three weeks or so.I'm thinking of getting a beater or leasing a car. I would like to get a car while I'm in Nevada, but Id rather not pay the ridiculous registration fee. I thought about renting a car for those two weeks, but that will run me nearly $1500.TL;DR Flying into nv, getting a car to travel nv and az for about two weeks, driving to nm, planning on using a lot of miles.What do ya'll think is the best option for me? via /r/cars http://ift.tt/2rOsnbe
