Ants on my car!! May have to light it on fire.

I went on a trip for two weeks and my car has been covered in ants since I got back.At first they were all over (inside and out) so I took my car to a car wash where they kept it overnight and bombed it. They cleaned and vacuumed the interior and washed the exterior and they have not returned on the inside but they are back on the outside of the car.My brother in law is an exterminator and he gave me a syringe full of some kind of ant poison that I put in lines over my car (typing this at work so i don't know the name, but can find out if anyone needs to know). Apparently they eat it and also carry it back to their nests and it's supposed to take care of all of them. I put this stuff on my car on Sunday and they all swarmed to it. On Monday my car seemed clear of ants so I took it to the car wash to get the remaining ant poison off my car before it apparently turns into glucose which would make the problem worse. Today, Thursday, they are back on my car in full force!!I do not eat in my car so I don't believe there is a food source that that they are drawn to and I have not been parking in the spot that I left it when I went on vacation (alley behind the house vs. parking on street).I am just at point where I have spent a fair amount of money trying to kill these things and I feel like they are never going to go away.
