So I recently just bought a 2017 VW GTI S, 4 door. Now this is my first non-Japanese car. I previously owned Honda, Toyota and Mazda cars. I heard that the maintenance with VW, especially GTI's, can get expensive. When I was buying the car, the salespeople tried to sell me those maintenance packages, but I felt like I could get them a proper maintenance much cheaper at local/trustworthy auto repair shops than going to stealerships. Am I right in this?And what about those scheduled maintenance requirements? Is it true that I need to get it checked every 10k miles? What should maintenance schedule/timing look like? I used to be one of those guys who just gave any immediate emergency maintenance that was needed for my car, but drove it if it worked fine. I was never one for meticulous maintaining.On a side note, what would you guys recommend for additional add on sound, like subwoofers?
